Fourth month

My little man is officially no longer an infant. It's so hard to believe. He is getting so big and his little personality is starting to show. He is full of squeals, still pretty laid back, and a big momma's boy! I'll gladly take it though! Here are the stats for this month:

Weight
  • 18 pounds 8 ounces (the same weight c was at 5 mos)

  • Still losing lots of his hair (has a bald spot in the back from rolling his head around)
  • Rolly arms, legs, and wrists
  • Very thick thighs
  • Starting to get longer his Buddha belly is going away some.
  • Very small "nubs" or feet
  • Eyes are still not completely brown but very close

Tummy time
  • Doesn't just love it, we make him have it.
  • He is very close to rolling from his back to his tummy.
  • Great head control this month (I can finally hold him on my hip some)

Naps
  • Pretty much down to 3 a day sometimes he naps in the early evening if he's really tired.
  • Noises bother him more than they used to

Eating
  • Still eating every 2-2.5 hours during the day.
  • He drinks 4 ounce bottles of breastmilk when I'm at work
  • Nurses every hour when I get home from work (I guess he misses me, ha)
  • Eats 4 ounces at a time and slits up 6 ha!

Night night
  • Now sleeping in his pack and play.
  • Goes to sleep between 8 and 9 most nights

New discoveries
  • Lots of droll
  • Rolling to his side and following us with his head
  • Chewing on his hands or anything he can reach

Happenings
  •  Thanksgiving- we went to Jacksonville and Tilly to celebrate thanksgiving this year. It was a busy two days, but great seeing so much family.
  • Christmas parade- we got the opportunity to ride in the fire truck with. Daddy this year. C had a blast and Rhett was an angel and slept through it all.
  • Photos- the boys got to tag along while I took pics of several different friends and family. We really enjoyed getting to take my friend Tiffany's maternity pics. Rhett can't wait to meet Chapp.
  • Out to eat- we went out to eat several times this month and r is so much easier to deal with that c was at this age. I know this will change but it's nice now!
Here are some pictures from this month:

Pouty Lip

Third month

Ok so this monthly blog is getting harder and harder to keep up with now that I am back to work full time... I WILL do this for Rhett because I did it for his big brother. I don't get as much time with my precious boys as I'd like, but try to make the most of the time we do have together. Enough about me, this is about Rhett! Here are some stats from this month:

Weight
  • R is growing soooo fast! It's hard to believe. He weights 16 pounds and 9 ounces!

Appearance
  • Still has crazy hair but it seems to be thinning out
  • His belly button fixed itself this month- it looks great now!
  • Speaking of belly, it's sooo round
  • His eyes seem like they are totally BROWN now
  • Still has lots of baby rolls but seems to be getting longer and stretching out some

Diaper size
  • Started the month in size 2 now up to 3's
Paci
  • Still a love/ hate relationship
  • If he gets mad you might as well forget it
  • Picky only likes the rubber nuk kind not the plastic ones

Clothing size
  • His 3-6 month clothes are getting too tight so he is in mostly in 6 months or 6-9 months
  • Picky about pjs. He only likes cotton ones not fleece. He will scream his head off it they are too hot
Tummy time
  • Gets it several times a day and is getting STRONG.
  • He enjoys watching big Bubbie play and tries so hard to arch his back and roll
Bumbo
  • Likes it for very short periods of time then gets tired of it and arches his back to get out

Baby Noises
  • Rhett is full of cooes and precious baby noises. Caleb thinks it's funny because he was so used to Rhett only crying or being asleep for so long.
  • He typically talks a lot to his reflection in the mirror ( I think he may have laughed a time or two too)
Babysitters-
  • Daniel & I are SO blessed to have the best babysitters around. His mom & my mom watch the boys everyday for us. They do a FINE job! My mom drives up from Jacksonville and watches them twice a week & Granny watches them the other 3 days a week.
  • The boys get so much love & are so well taken care of.
  • One day I hope to pay it forward and watch my future grandkids!
Naps
  • Still a pretty good nap taker during the morning and early afternoon.
  • He Doesn't nap much at all after 3 pm. He would rather eat every hour from 5-8
  • He normally rats himself out after he has been up about an hour and starts fussing some.
  • Rhett can sleep through nearly any noise or commotion, this is probably due to big brother being soooooo noisy! I am thankful either way.
Eating
  • In the day time he still eats about every 2-2.5 hours.
  • He is a very fast nurser he normally takes between 6-10 minutes
  • Still only had breast milk woohoo! I've met my short term goal. *** sidenote*** When I breastfed C, I did it for 6 months because I knew it was what was best for him, I did not just LOVE it. Feeding Rhett seems so different, I really enjoy that bonding time and cherish every minute with him, probably because I now know how fast they change. ***
  • He has had more bottles of expressed breast milk this month due to me going back to work.
  • He drinks 4 ounce bottles
  • Still spitting up quite a bit. His clothes and my clothes are hardly EVER dry.

Sleeping
  • Rhett is doing FABULOUS most nights. I finally moved his bed time up (a little bit each night for two weeks).
  • He now goes to bed around 8:30 and sleeps till 5 most mornings then goes back down till 7:30-8.
  • Rhett started sleeping through the night at 9 weeks right before I went back to work. I am so thankful because after teaching kindergarteners all  day I need the rest. He doesn't do this every single night but I am thankful that most nights he does.
  • I'm pretty sure he went through a growth spurt during week 11 because he wanted to eat like every 45 minutes in the early evenings for a week straight.
  • He is still swaddled in the rock n sleeper
  • He is such a sound sleeper (unlike C). He normally doesn't move around any until it's close to time to wake up. C used to wake up with a leg out and both arms tangled up, not Rhett he wakes up all pretty and swaddled most mornings.

Bath time
  • Rhett gets a bath every night before his last feed.
  • He really likes the warm water and seems to relax so much.
  • He and C still take a bath together and it's so much fun. I normally just hike up my pants and set on the edge of our whirlpool. I hardly ever have dry clothes by the end. It's totally worth it.

Field trips/ Events
  • Fall Fellowship- We had our church family over to our house for a Fall Fest. It was such a beautiful night and it was so much fun eating, playing games, and fellowshipping with everyone.
  • Daddy's birthday- We had some of our friends/ family over for Daniel's 33rd birthday.
  • Cathryn's wedding- Rhett got to go with me to one of my most precious friends wedding. It was absolutely beautiful!
  • Family pictures-Rhett was a trooper during the Davis family pictures
  • Daddy's hunting trip- daddy went to Kansas this month and was gone for 5 days. Praise The Lord he got a great buck and our freezer is full. I was very glad to have my helpmate back too ;)

  • Brotherly Love

Rhett's second month

I remember time going quickly with Caleb, but how in the world is it going faster now?? Rhett has been such a pleasure to be around. He has become more alert this month and enjoys smiling and making sweet baby noises. He is still pretty laid back, but I'm afraid he is somewhat of a Momma's boy. I'm soaking up all these cuddles and sweet baby noises before going back to work next week! Eek! Here are some stats from this month:

Weight-
  • 14 lbs 8 ounces (He is growing like a weed)

Appearance-
  • Rhett has really plumped up this month. He is becoming quite the rolly polly. I love it. Motherhood is absolutely a miracle. It is crazy to ponder that Rhett has gained all his "fluff" from my breast milk. That is my excuse for my daily milkshake :).
  • Eyes- are getting darker by the day
  • Hair- has kept it all and it's WILD
  • Fluffy wrists, belly, and legs this month- seems to have a little bitty waste

Diaper size-
  • Moved to size 2 this month.
Clothes size
  • moved to 3-6 month this month.

Paci-
  • Still a love/ hate relationship
  • I don't think it will be hard to take away from you one day (just like Big Bubbie)
Eating-
  • Nurses every 2-3 hours in the day
  • Rhett has had a couple of bottles this month and he has not quite mastered the eating neatly part.
  • Rhett has inherited his big brother's spitting up skills this month. It's not much fun trying to keep his neck and clothes clean, but I know he is getting enough to eat.
Naps-
  • Still a great sleeper and can sleep ANYWHERE
  • I enjoy cuddling up with Rhett while big bubbie takes his nap upstairs. Most days I accidentally fall asleep during our sweet cuddle time. I am going to miss this time the most when I go back to work.
  • He has started to fall into the Eat, play, sleep cycle and normally passes out after being up for an hour. He can sleep anywhere and everywhere so I am still taking advantage of getting out and about during nap times.

Sleep-
  • Rhett wants to be a night owl. Most nights its a struggle to get him to go down before 10
  • I am working really hard on changing this, since I go back to work next week. We've got lucky a few times lately and he has gone down around 9.
  • He normally sleeps 6 or 7 hours the first round and then 3 or 4 the next round (I am totally ok with that because C did not do this until 3 months)
  • Still in the rock n sleeper most nights swaddled
Bath time-
  • Rhett requires a daily bath because his hair gets sooo greasy
  • We moved bath time to right before bed and this seems to relax him so he is more "tired" for bed.
  • Most nights he and C enjoy bath time together. It's so cute to watch C help wash bubbie, I have to pay close attention though because C is ornery.

Tummy time-
  • Rhett is continuing to grow stronger and his neck muscles have come a long way.
  • When he is being held  he wants to sit up not be laid down in the rocking position.
  • I think this kiddo is going to enjoy the bumbo once he gets a little bigger.
  • He lifts his neck and shoulders up so high on tummy time. A few times I have caught him trying to roll to his back, but no success yet.

Field trips-
  • Zoo- The girls I work with invited us to go to the zoo. I was really interested in taking Caleb because he LOVES animal noises right now.  I decided to brave a trip to my parents with both kiddos by myself.

  •
  • Working with Daddy- The boys and I helped Daddy stain the porch at the house he is building. I don't think I was much help because I was too busy being "mommy".
  • Center Valley- Rhett and I got to attend two showers at work this month. The first one was for Cathryn who is getting married very soon and the other one was for Misty who is about to welcome baby #3. It was fun visiting all my colleagues and Mrs. Chandler tried to steal Rhett each time.
  • Shopping- weekly grocery trips & running errands
  • Visit to see Richard & Lyndsay- we made a family trip with daddy to Jacksonville to see all the family for October birthdays (Richard, dad, and Mamaw). We had a great visit. Daniel and I joked about how it was actually nice because we had so many "babysitters" that helped play with the boys so we got to relax.
  • Fall Fest- We made a family trip to CVE for fall fest. Although C was a little too young to participate he had fun watching everyone and playing on the slide. I enjoyed visiting with all my long lost friends

  • Visitors- We enjoy having company over to our house whenever it's possible. We've had friends and family over for dinner several times this month and here is a picture of Rhett with his girlfriend Hadley Claire.

Randoms:
  • Rhett has had some trouble with baby acne and switched from having a bowel movement every day to every couple days.
  • Rhett can now smile. He started smiling at the beginning if this month. He normally responds to mommas voice, high pitches, and his cheeks being squished.
  • His belly button was herniated but seems to be correcting itself.
Here are some pictures of my growing boy
