I remember time going quickly with Caleb, but how in the world is it going faster now?? Rhett has been such a pleasure to be around. He has become more alert this month and enjoys smiling and making sweet baby noises. He is still pretty laid back, but I'm afraid he is somewhat of a Momma's boy. I'm soaking up all these cuddles and sweet baby noises before going back to work next week! Eek! Here are some stats from this month:
Weight-
- 14 lbs 8 ounces (He is growing like a weed)
Appearance-
- Rhett has really plumped up this month. He is becoming quite the rolly polly. I love it. Motherhood is absolutely a miracle. It is crazy to ponder that Rhett has gained all his "fluff" from my breast milk. That is my excuse for my daily milkshake :).
- Eyes- are getting darker by the day
- Hair- has kept it all and it's WILD
- Fluffy wrists, belly, and legs this month- seems to have a little bitty waste
- Moved to size 2 this month.
- moved to 3-6 month this month.
Paci-
- Still a love/ hate relationship
- I don't think it will be hard to take away from you one day (just like Big Bubbie)
- Nurses every 2-3 hours in the day
- Rhett has had a couple of bottles this month and he has not quite mastered the eating neatly part.
- Rhett has inherited his big brother's spitting up skills this month. It's not much fun trying to keep his neck and clothes clean, but I know he is getting enough to eat.
- Still a great sleeper and can sleep ANYWHERE
- I enjoy cuddling up with Rhett while big bubbie takes his nap upstairs. Most days I accidentally fall asleep during our sweet cuddle time. I am going to miss this time the most when I go back to work.
- He has started to fall into the Eat, play, sleep cycle and normally passes out after being up for an hour. He can sleep anywhere and everywhere so I am still taking advantage of getting out and about during nap times.
- Rhett wants to be a night owl. Most nights its a struggle to get him to go down before 10
- I am working really hard on changing this, since I go back to work next week. We've got lucky a few times lately and he has gone down around 9.
- He normally sleeps 6 or 7 hours the first round and then 3 or 4 the next round (I am totally ok with that because C did not do this until 3 months)
- Still in the rock n sleeper most nights swaddled
- Rhett requires a daily bath because his hair gets sooo greasy
- We moved bath time to right before bed and this seems to relax him so he is more "tired" for bed.
- Most nights he and C enjoy bath time together. It's so cute to watch C help wash bubbie, I have to pay close attention though because C is ornery.
Tummy time-
- Rhett is continuing to grow stronger and his neck muscles have come a long way.
- When he is being held he wants to sit up not be laid down in the rocking position.
- I think this kiddo is going to enjoy the bumbo once he gets a little bigger.
- He lifts his neck and shoulders up so high on tummy time. A few times I have caught him trying to roll to his back, but no success yet.
- Zoo- The girls I work with invited us to go to the zoo. I was really interested in taking Caleb because he LOVES animal noises right now. I decided to brave a trip to my parents with both kiddos by myself.
- Working with Daddy- The boys and I helped Daddy stain the porch at the house he is building. I don't think I was much help because I was too busy being "mommy".
- Center Valley- Rhett and I got to attend two showers at work this month. The first one was for Cathryn who is getting married very soon and the other one was for Misty who is about to welcome baby #3. It was fun visiting all my colleagues and Mrs. Chandler tried to steal Rhett each time.
- Shopping- weekly grocery trips & running errands
- Visit to see Richard & Lyndsay- we made a family trip with daddy to Jacksonville to see all the family for October birthdays (Richard, dad, and Mamaw). We had a great visit. Daniel and I joked about how it was actually nice because we had so many "babysitters" that helped play with the boys so we got to relax.
- Fall Fest- We made a family trip to CVE for fall fest. Although C was a little too young to participate he had fun watching everyone and playing on the slide. I enjoyed visiting with all my long lost friends
- Visitors- We enjoy having company over to our house whenever it's possible. We've had friends and family over for dinner several times this month and here is a picture of Rhett with his girlfriend Hadley Claire.
- Rhett has had some trouble with baby acne and switched from having a bowel movement every day to every couple days.
- Rhett can now smile. He started smiling at the beginning if this month. He normally responds to mommas voice, high pitches, and his cheeks being squished.
- His belly button was herniated but seems to be correcting itself.
